National Retail Federation Recognizes Hultgren’s Dedication to Main Street Businesses
Washington, DC – In recognition of his dedication to retailers and small businesses, U.S. Representative Randy Hultgren (IL-14) has been named a recipient of the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) Hero of Main Street Award. The award honors Senators and Members of Congress who have positive voting records during the 113th Congress on critical issues that contribute to the growth and prosperity of small business and the U.S. retail industry.

“Illinois’ retail industry is responsible for 17 percent of the state’s GDP and one in four Illinois jobs,” said Rep. Hultgren. “Retailers in the 14th District not only continue to contribute to our statewide economic growth and well-being, but are the critical foundation that provides close to 1.7 million jobs for Illinois workers. In this next Congress, we must continue to defend and support the small businesses and retailers in Illinois and across the country.”
Recognizing Rep. Hultgren’s record, National Retail Federation President and CEO Matthew Shay stated: “NRF salutes our retail advocates in Congress for their dedication and proven commitment to public policies that support prosperity on Main Street. Retailers are the heart and soul of our communities, and we are pleased to acknowledge lawmakers, like Representative Hultgren, who have consistently supported a pro-economic growth policy agenda to ensure a thriving Main Street and a healthy and vibrant retail sector in Illinois.”
