U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren Honored as Guardian of Small Business
Washington, DC — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading advocate for small businesses, today awarded U.S. Representative Randy Hultgren (IL-14) with its Guardian of Small Business Award for his outstanding support of America’s small business owners in the 114th Congress.

“Many elected officials claim that they are champions of small business, but our Guardian Award shows our members and other small business owners who is really fighting for them,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan. “Based on his voting record, Rep. Hultgren is one of the most reliable advocates for small business in Washington.”
The Guardian of Small Business is NFIB’s most prestigious award. It is reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently with NFIB on the key issues identified by small business owners. Hultgren received a 100 voting record with NFIB during the 114th Congress.
“As the engine of the American economy, small businesses create the bulk of American jobs and more than half of our economic output. They are central to ensuring Illinois residents are in the workforce,” said Rep. Hultgren. “I am honored to accept this award and look forward to continuing to represent the concerns of small business owners in Washington.”
Among other actions, Rep. Hultgren has introduced H.R. 5374, the Bring Small Businesses Back Tax Reform Act, a bill which provides immediate tax relief and reduces administrative burdens for small businesses looking to grow and hire more workers.
