Seniors

As a country we owe a debt of gratitude to the generations of retired Americans and those nearing retirement for paving the way for the opportunities we enjoy today.  Our seniors have carried the torch for America through the turbulence of war and national upheaval.  We can never repay their sacrifices, but we can honor them by keeping our commitments to them.

I made a pledge to my constituents that I would not compromise federal benefits for those 55 years of age or older.  We cannot and should not move the goal posts for these folks who have worked hard throughout their life and are expecting security in their retirement.  Seniors have paid into systems that should not fail them and I intend to make sure we honor that trust.
