Hultgren Responds To Presidential Veto Threat On Cut, Cap, Balance Bill
Geneva, IL – U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) today issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s threatened veto of H.R. 2560, the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011.
“President Obama has persistently refused to offer his own plan to cut spending and get our fiscal house back in order without punitive tax hikes; instead, he’s threatening to veto the commonsense Cut, Cap and Balance Act,” said Hultgren, a sponsor of the bill. “By issuing this threat, President Obama has shown that he’s more willing to play politics than have a serious discussion about how to get spending and our national debt under control. We need to have that conversation in order to get our economy moving, create jobs, and put Americans back to work.”
