Hultgren Statement on Blagojevich Conviction
Geneva, IL – U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) today released the following statement in response to the conviction of former-Governor Rod Blagojevich on 17 counts of public corruption.
“While in the Illinois Senate, I had the sobering, yet ultimately necessary task of voting to impeach former Governor Rod Blagojevich," said Rep. Hultgren. "The cost of corruption in Illinois through the years has been enormous and the taxpayers are the one's forced to pay the bill. Today's conviction serves as a stark reminder that public office should never be used for personal gain, and that all elected officials will be held accountable for their actions."
