Press Release
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) today released the following statement after voting to provide funding for the federal government until April 8th while cutting $6.1 billion in discretionary spending.
“Although I am deeply dissatisfied with these sorts of piecemeal, short-term funding mechanisms, my vote today will provide an additional three weeks of funding for the federal government and continues my pledge to cut government spending,” said Hultgren. “Today’s legislation will also give us time to settle on a long-term measure to fund the federal government through the end of this fiscal year, implementing more cuts to discretionary spending which will help us begin to restore fiscal sanity.”
